Turn a boring dinner table into a whimsical place for a Christmas feast with a simple yet festive centerpiece. Create a Christmas table centerpiece that will dazzle your family and friends, while only taking minutes of your time. So, take a trip to the craft store and design your own elegant Christmas cheer.

    Glass Candy Jars

    • Use old-fashioned glass candy jars to create a festive Christmas centerpiece. Fill three to five glass candy jars, the kind with the glass lid that rests on the top of the jar, in varying sizes with Christmas-related items. Fill one jar with candy canes. Fill another with small glass ball ornaments. Fill yet another with ribbon candy. Fill more jars with old-fashioned Christmas light bulbs, pine cones and gift bows. Arrange the jars, with the larger ones in the center, in a cluster in the center of your Christmas table.

    Fake Presents

    • Create a simple and inexpensive Christmas centerpiece that uses up empty boxes around your house. Wrap your empty boxes with Christmas wrapping paper. Wrap decorative ribbon around the wrapped boxes like you would a gift. Tie the ribbon in a big bow on the top of each box. Place a group of the fake gifts in the center of the table arranged by size so all the fake presents are visible. Place a few glass Christmas ball ornaments in varying sizes around the cluster of presents to make the centerpiece even more decorative.

    Candles

    • Candles are always a fitting choice when you are looking for a quick and simple centerpiece option. Place candles in Christmas colors--red, green, white, gold and silver--on pillar candle stands of varying heights. Surround the bottom of the cluster of stands with an arrangement of sprigs of pine needles, pine cones, ball ornaments, peppermint candies and small Christmas village houses, if you have them. Sprinkle a little white glitter over the top of the items arranged below the candle stands to give the centerpiece some sparkle when the candlelight flickers off the glitter.

    Dressed-Up Ornaments

    • Turn plain ball ornaments into an elegant centerpiece for the holidays. Take plain ball ornaments--clear, red, green, brightly colored, it doesn't matter--and dress them up with self-adhesive rhinestones from the scrapbooking section of the craft store. Arrange the rhinestones on the ornaments in simple patterns, such as a line around the middle of the ornament or vertical stripes all around the ball. Tie short lengths of ribbon around the metal loop at the top of other ornaments. Place all the decorated ornaments in a glass urn in the center of your table. Instead of using rhinestones to dress up the ornaments, use glitter glue to write Christmas-related words on the ornaments, such as "Joy" and "Noel," before placing them in the urn once they are dry. Just remember to arrange them so the words are at least partly visible.
