Why you should take vitamin D supplements

105 9
Much attention is being played to the role of vitamins and minerals in modern day diseases, some people have claimed that taking various supplements have really helped them out and made them feel much better and others are even claiming they stopped taking medication because of supplements, others have said they gained no benefit and many studies suggest it's possibly the placebo effect, it's very difficult these days to know which source to trust but one thing can remain certain, your body needs vitamins to keep healthy.

With many people eating so poorly these days it's no wonder there has been a recent spike in interest of vitamin supplements with sales reaching the millions, there has been many reasons for this but the main one appears to be the internet, people are now spending more time looking at health issues and researching much further into their health conditions than ever before.

Changing your diet to include more foods that contain vitamin D can sometimes be very expensive, with spiralling food costs people who want to eat healthy foods simply can no longer afford them and instead have to opt for supplement pills to keep them going, these offer a cheap and fast solution to many peoples problems and are often recommended by doctors as a good way to boost levels, it's also handy if you have any special dietary concerns that means you can't eat a broad range of foods.

One of the best sources of vitamin D is sunlight and sadly it's very much lacking in our modern lifestyles today, because people sit in offices and are often indoors for most of the day they really don't get much of a chance to get outside and get some sun on their skins, these people are often the ones who opt for pills because it's just so much easier to take a pill in the morning than it is to change your entire lifestyle and again it's not always possible to get outside especially during the winter months.

There are various toxicity issues that come with taking to much vitamin D and these are pretty horrible, if you go over the RDA amount you may experience acute toxicity of vitamin D and have issues like weakness, metallic taste in the mouth, headaches and stomach upset, to avoid this you should always stick to the RDA dose which is currently set at 25 micrograms.
