Flaws of Commercially Available at Home Teeth Whitening Methods

At Home Teeth Whitening is now as effective as professional dental treatments, apart from being less expensive and more easy to use.
However, the at home teeth whitening products that are easily commercially available are not without some serious flaws.
Let's discuss the flaws of the "at home teeth whitening products" commercially available.
1) Brush-on Whitening: Principally, brush-on whitening involves just brushing on the formula and allowing it to dry on the teeth overnight.
However, it is just what it claims to be: a short cut.
So let's analyze its major flaws.
Flaw 1: The basic premise on which the brush on formula works is that it will eventually dry on your teeth.
However, if the formula gets wet (e.
g.
from saliva) then portions of it can get removed from the teeth easily, thus leaving a patchy whitening effect.
Flaw 2: The ingredient list of most brush on whiteners includes alcohol as a major ingredient which is terrible for breath! Alcohol is added to the formula to help the formula dry out fast but it wrecks havoc with the teeth and gums.
Also most of the brush-on whitening formulas have glycerin.
Glycerin sucks the moisture out from the teeth enamel and results in tooth sensitivity.
2) Teeth Whitening Strips: The second most common type of at home teeth whitening is using whitening strips.
The simplicity of use and ease of application is the main lure to use this method.
Flaw: Whitening strips that stick on to your teeth typically consist of strips that are pressed against the outer surface of your teeth.
However, since nobody's teeth are completely flat, the groves and cracks in the teeth get left out while the flatter parts are whitened.
The whiter the flat part of your teeth becomes, more is its contrast with the not so white cracks.
So eventually it can end up looking like as if you have small gaps between your teeth.
3) Bleaching Gels Trays: The bleaching gels provide the best combination of most affordable and most efficient at home teeth whitening remedy available.
Flaw 1: Most of the bleaching gels that are available at all dentists are essentially the same, as the gels are manufactured by a small number of manufacturers.
Flaw 2: Most bleaching gels available at retail stores are generally of poor quality.
Also since they are meant to be low cost, they are often low concentration also, often lower than the required amount.
Flaw 3: Dental bleaching gels and bleaching gels available at stores use glycerin as carrying agent.
However, when glycerin is mixed with carbamide peroxide (to speed up the bleaching process) it also draws moisture out of the enamel.
This causes sensitive teeth!
