Places To Visit In Kamala Beach Phuket- Thailand
2. Take a ride on an elephant. Elephant rides are very funny. Thai are very possessive about their elephants and defend the high prices of elephant rides by telling you that cars run on petrol and have insurance if they break down, elephants don't. They are huge creatures that can only be fed on bananas, and if you feed them crap, they get sick! Catch a taxi and you will be able to go on a short ride away and take an elephant ride. Be ready for some sarcasm though, because when we went on an elephant ride, it had rained a little, and the elephant slid a little up the hill, being a first visit for us; it was a little scary to say the least and the guy riding the elephant seemed to take great pleasure in teasing us!
3. If you are lucky enough to stop in a hotel that allows you to rent bikes like we were, then you have to take a ride on a bicycle. It is so entertaining riding around the island and seeing day to day life as it is. In Swissotel, where we were staying in Kamala beach, we could rent a bike and take a ride around. It was fantastic and perhaps one of the best days of my life. It is so exiting taking a bike ride and feeling the wind against your skin as you ride around carefree. It is a great stress reliever.
4. Go on a tuk tuk ride. Yes, you got it those lovely tuk tuks are a great way to offer you hours of endless entertainment too. It is so fun when you have to walk around and bargain for the ride. Furthermore, the novelty of sitting in the back of one is quiet amusing. We loved the whole tuk tuk experience. Your driver will take you just about anywhere you want to go and will have a lot of ideas for you, for places to visit as he will make a commission on any place do end up going.
5. Take a trip to the seaside market. The prices in Kamala beach are a little higher than main-stream Pattaya; however, it is lovely being able to stroll along the beach and check out the wares. You will find locals that braid hair for ladies's and children, and it is quite fun sitting on the beach as they plait your hair for you.
The Kamala beach area of Pattaya is fantastic and the locals are so friendly. It is also the Muslim area of the island so you can pick up some great food. There is a lovely sense of peace and tranquility. Whilst I stayed there I stopped in Swissotel Kamala Beach, and I recommend that you do the same if it is within your budget.
