How To Use Hypnosis To Stop Binge Eating

103 7
Using hypnosis for weight or food issues can be tricky.
You see, as opposed to cigarettes, we actually need food to survive.
Unfortunately, sometimes we eat more than we need to survive, and this can lead to anywhere from obesity to heart disease.
Almost always, when we overeat, we do so out of emotions, not out of hunger.
And, since emotions are based in the subconscious mind, hypnosis is the perfect tool for dealing with these issues.
Ideally, you'll find a nationally certified clinical hypnotherapist in your area that can help you with this.
If not, don't fret.
Here's a technique that works wonders.
Your first step is to pay attention.
The next time you want to eat, ask yourself, "Am I really hungry?" If the answer is no, ask yourself what emotion you're feeling.
What emotional hole are you trying to fill with food? It's essential you identify those emotions.
Once you do, then you can use hypnosis to dissolve your binge eating.
Here are the steps to do just that: Step 1.
Induction.
This is simply getting yourself very relaxed.
There are several progressive relaxation techniques out there.
I personally start with imagining my feet are relaxing, then move to the calves, thighs, and on up the rest of the body.
When you finish the relaxation, the count yourself down from 10 to 1, knowing that with every number you say, you will relax deeper and deeper.
Step 2.
Sensory Immersion.
This means to imagine a scene, and to incorporate all your senses.
If you're walking on a beach, smell the breeze and feel it blow through your hair.
Hear it flooding your ears.
Feel the hot sand crunching under your feet, and see a huge, puffy white cloud against an intense blue sky.
The more you can do this, the deeper in hypnosis you'll be.
Step 3.
Regression.
Say to yourself, "Now we're going to a place and time where I experienced this level of this emotion in the past.
Three, two, one...
I'm there.
" Notice what's going on.
This might be a memory you'd forgotten long ago.
Experience it fully.
Feel the intensity of the negativity.
Then rewind.
Replay this situation in a healthy way, changing the characters and outcome as you see fit.
For example, if I regress to a situation with my parents, I usually call on Jesus.
Not so much because I'm religious, but because they are.
If my parents are doing something that creates a negative pattern that affects me as an adult, I have Jesus explain to them how they're harming me, even though they might believe it's for my own good.
If this sounds simplistic to you, keep in mind that we are dealing with the subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between what is real and what we imagine.
So, in a very real sense, Jesus really is traveling back in time and talking to my parents.
Step 4.
Return.
Count yourself back up from 1 to 10.
Step 5.
Repeat as necessary.
