How to Remove Symantecs
- 1). Click the "Start" button and double-click the "My Computer" icon. Double-click on the "C://" drive and choose "My Documents." Look in the "Symantec" folder and double-click on the "Norton Product Key" text document. Copy this document to your desktop or write down the product key on a piece of paper.
- 2). Open a web browser and go to the Symantec program removal tool download page or click on the link in the Resource section of this article. Click the "Download" button. Save the file to your desktop and click "OK" to download the program.
- 3). Double-click on the removal tool program after it has finished downloading. Click "Start" to begin the removal process.
- 4). Type in the product key when prompted. Click "OK." The removal process will begin. The entire process takes a while, so be patient. Your computer will shut down and restart itself numerous times throughout the process.
- 5). Click "Finish" when the removal process has completed. Your computer will restart and the Symantec antivirus program will be removed from your system.
