But like that theory of relativity, this theory of relationship-tivity revolutionises everything.
1+1=2 is OK for getting by, but you need to work the code of 1+1=3, if you want to be exceptional.
It is through the ennobling art of enabling another that your own brilliance will shine forth.
The fastest and richest way to realise your desires is through helping other people to achieve theirs.
We are not talking altruism and noble sacrifice here, but progressive thinking and smart action.
It also takes self-awareness and courage.
For starters you need to be sharply aware of what you want and where you are heading and find the sweet spot inside yourself where your self-belief reigns.
From this position of power and aliveness, you contact those around you, seeking out their point of truth and listening to their desires and dreams.
Then you play together to find ways of co-operation and co-creation that are mutually beneficial.
1+1=3 does not mean that you sacrifice your own needs in the service of another and it does not mean that you win their confidence over and then milk them for all they are worth.
It means that you intend the fulfilment of both of you equally and attend alertly to every opportunity to achieve that.
It applies to any and every relationship be it close, distant, intimate, platonic or business.
Two people engaged enthusiastically together doing what they love have the power of three, and several people co-operating authentically unleash an energy that appears to be miraculous.
It only appears to be so, because it is under-used - it is actually the normal thrilling energy available to all those who dare to live their truth unequivocally and encourage others to do the same.
1+1 does equal 3 if you allow it to but you can't fake it.
1+1=2 is easy to fake.
You can fool most people most of the time.
But not 1+1=3 for it is something you feel, not something you intellectualise.
The theory is simple to put into practise.
If, in any relationship, you lovingly intend your own fulfilment and the fulfilment of the other person equally, you open up the heart-space of the Beloved.
If you keep your attention persistently on this desire (and not all the differences between you) a great and pure energy is released.
It is, however, not something you finely calculate, not a commercial transaction.
It is rather the deliberate determination to find the feeling place of love.
It is a balance where you neither sacrifice nor overpower, but allow the desire for 'win-win-win' to dominate over other petty interests.
A good place to start is to think of a person who stirs up deep feelings of love.
Just one thought of them makes your heart swell with tenderness, and automatically you wish their dreams to come true as much as your own.
Other people do not evoke that response; they live on a gradient of feeling from love through indifference to dislike.
Every person can be brought into the heart-space of the Beloved, merely by your intention that it be so.
It doesn't need their co-operation to work (though co-creation is obviously exciting) but it will take clear-mindedness, pure-heartedness and determination in many cases.
For every person brought from the zone of indifference or dislike into the loving heart-space there is a mighty pay-off.
All the energy that was invested in judging or criticising or feeling superior to, is released into the dance of fulfilment.
The more you care about other dancers, the more majestic becomes your own dance.
Never again do you need waste time failing to see the divinity of your fellow human.
Full and uplifted by your own integrity you can turn the luminous generosity of spirit on to every meeting, blessing it (however briefly) with your compassionate conviction of the exceptional life dancing inside.
Every blessing is a ripple in the pond.
Your most blessed sleep will come from knowing you have sent a tidal wave that reaches to uncharted shores.
