One Life to Live Recap for Tuesday, June 1, 2004
David tells Todd that he told Blair that Kelly and Todd are faking an affair to make Todd jealous. Todd thinks it's ironic since he just told Kevin that they had a real affair. David asks if Kelly went along with it, and Todd nods, "It was either that, or tell him the truth." David says, "So the truth is worse than sleeping with her husband's worst enemy. What did Paul have on Kelly?" Todd denies that he knows anything.
Kathryn and John tell Kelly that they found evidence that Paul's body had been in the landfill, although they didn't find the body. When they ask her to explain why her car was found outside the landfill, Kelly says someone must have misread the license plate number because her car wasn't there. Kathryn has a warrant to search Kelly's car, and she tells Kevin about the blood- stained pillow case they found at the landfill which came from the same hotel Kelly stayed in. Kathryn upsets Kelly, so Kevin steps in and calls a halt to the interrogation, although the police team still searches her car.
Paul and Nat hide in a hotel room after being shot at by men who want Paul. He tells Nat that a crime family is after him because he testified against them for John and Kathryn. He says that Kelly and Todd dumped his body and think he's dead. He wants some fast cash out of town, and somehow he convinces Nat to blackmail Todd and Kelly by disguising her voice on the phone.
When Jen finds Riley searching a website that sells term papers, she helps him realize that cheating won't do anything for him.
When Jen leaves to speak with Lindsay about "Uncle Ben" dying, Riley has second thoughts and buys a paper online.
Antonio tells Evangeline that he will not go undercover as a stripper. "Not now, not ever," he says. He talks to Jess about his feelings upon discovering that the drug lord, Manuel Santi, was his uncle.
Kevin asks Kelly if Todd killed Paul for her, and she asks how he can even think that. Kevin says he just wishes that she would have come to him, but then he says sarcastically that he guesses she couldn't come to him because of her affair with Todd. She says she's sorry, and he says, "For what? For lying? Or for cheating? Or for this supposed affair with Todd? Or are you sorry that Todd beat up your brother Paul or that he paid him off and that Paul ran away and no one can find him? What are you sorry for?!!!" He says he wants her to stop lying and tell him the truth right now, but she hears the baby crying and leaves the room as Kevin screams at the top of his lungs for her to come back and tell him the truth!
At Capricorn, Kathryn says she thinks Nat went on the run, but John says if she left town it's not because she killed Paul. Kathryn thinks Nat knows how Paul ended up dead, but John wonders why Kathryn doesn't suspect Kelly since the evidence is now pointing toward her. Kathryn says she just knows that a lot of people know more than they're saying, and it's Kathryn's job to crack the right one.
Rex tells Lindsay he was in New York trying to raise cash because he's short on his loan payment. He asks if she and RJ are really going to take over his club and restaurant if he's late another month. She doesn't have time to answer because Jen walks up and says, "Well, I see nothing has changed."
After some coaxing by Starr, Blair lets her go to a movie with Travis while his mom chaperones.
Kevin visits Blair and tells her about the evidence that the FBI has on Kelly. He thinks Todd and Kelly have much more than an affair going on, and he wonders if they might have killed Paul. Blair says maybe it wasn't Kelly's car at the landfill, but Kevin thinks that's too much of a coincidence that the bloody pillowcase came from her hotel room. They think they should get Kelly and Todd together and confront them with the truth. Starr calls and Blair agrees to let her go bowling with Travis.
Kelly receives a call, "I know you. I know what you did. I saw you dump that body." On the other end, Nat changes her voice with her hand cupped over her mouth, and she continues by telling Kelly that she's going to turn her into the cops and make sure she goes to prison. In the end, Nat tells Kelly to bring $20,000 to a casino. Nat feels guilty for her phone call, but she says she did it because she has some insane need to make sure Paul stays alive. "Plus," she adds, "Kelly and Todd have it coming--the way they dumped you like that." Paul teases her and says it looked like she enjoyed making that call, but Nat says he doesn't know her that well.
