Beach Scenes For The Home

103 24
Like a lot of people who visit the beach on a family vacation, you probably thought at some point, Wouldn't it be great to live at the beach full time.
That thought was probably followed by the reality that your job, family and life were far from the beach and that wasn't a practical thought but rather a wish.
Well, what if you could bring the beach home.
I know, I know, your saying we have plenty of seashells and sand that has traveled back with us.
Well that's all good.
You don't have to dump a ton of sand in the living room, just pick one room in your house that you and the family enjoy.
With a little time and very little expense you and your family could be enjoying your shrine to your Seaside sanctuary year round.
A beach scene family room is a great way to collect and relive memories of beach trips past.
The best thing is you probably have most of what you need already.
1.
Pick a room, preferably a family room, it doesn't have to be your formal room but it could be.
Could just be the kids playroom.
2.
Gather together all your family beach pictures (you know you have boxes of them somewhere) in one place and pick the best 20 or so.
3.
Gather together your seashells and other beach items you have collected.
Could be last years flip-flops, some old fishing rods, an old snorkel or boogie board.
4.
You will need a focal point for the room.
A large piece of Beach Scene Wall Art will work best, either a large photograph or painting, large enough to dominate the wall.
Now that we have the decor accessories started, we will need to create a foundation for your beach scene.
I would recommend you start by painting the room.
You could paint the room in Sea colors, blue and aqua but that will be a bit dark.
If you use a light sand color with white trim and ceiling, the room will be light, cheery and clean looking and if you decide to change the theme, you probably won't have to paint again.
Next, pick the focal point wall to mount your wall art on.
I mentioned photographs because they can tell people what your theme is and they come in all colors and sizes.
A nice 3 panel tropical beach scene will set the tone for your beach scene room in an instant.
Next use similar frames on several of the family pictures.
Place some of these on end tables and hang some in a collection on a smaller wall.
This could be 4 to 6 pictures in a square or rectangle.
You can also take several smaller pictures of the kids at the beach and make a collage out of them.
You could pin them to a cork message board, mount it on a smaller wall and surround it with old flip-flops or new ones from a discount store.
This can be a great colorful display.
You can take some old sea shells you have collected and display them in groups with the photos on end tables and other furniture.
Take some old boogie boards and lean them in a corner or even mount one on the wall.
Use some old fishing rods as wall displays or corner displays.
You could even hang an old fishing net in a corner of the ceiling.
With a little imagination and very little expense you could have a beach scene room you and the family can enjoy year round, even when it's freezing outside.
