Earn With Twitter - Learning the Language of Twitter

103 13
So you want to earn with twitter? To be successful in any niche or business, you need to learn to speak the lingo.
Believe me when I say this, Twitter has it's own language.
If you visit twitter, and read someone's time line you will most likely see all kinds of symbols and shortened text that you don't recognize.
So today we will give you a crash course in Twitter lingo.
First is the "@username".
This is when you are sending or directing a message to another twitter username.
Once you have the @username then proceed to send your message.
Keep in mind though that this message appears in the person's public timeline so everyone can read it.
You will use this for personal interaction, because twitter users love personal attention.
The next one is "RT @username", you will use this when you see a Tweet that you like and want to share with your followers.
This will show that you liked someone else's tweet enough to say "Hey check out this other tweet" and give the original twitterer credit.
Next comes the "#Topic" This is known as a hashtag, and the more you use Twitter the more you will find yourself using hashtags.
This is basically a way to track different topics on twitter, and if you want to earn with twitter, this will allow you to stay on top of the hot niches and discussions on twitter.
These topics can be anything from events to certain topics you find interesting.
Now if you want to send a private message to one of your followers you will use direct message feature.
To do this simply type "d" in front of their username like this "d username" then send your message.
This message is private and can only be read by the person receiving the message.
Another great tool to use with Twitter is a URL shortener or converter, my personal favorite is biy.
ly but you can also use tinyurl.
com.
This is great for taking long URLs and shortening them so you are not using too many of the 140 characters allowed when sending a tweet.
Some other great Twitter lingo to learn and earn with Twitter is:
  • Tweet up - a meet up or event where tweetple come to together for whatever reason
  • Tweeple, Tweep or Twits - Twitter users
  • Twitterholic - Someone addicted to twitter
So keep in mind that anytime you start a new venture, you need to learn and study the language.
Learning the language of Twitter is very easy, just start reading your timeline and the timelines of the people you follow and the ones of the people that are following you.
There are sites dedicated to learning this lingo, so read up and study so that you can keep up with the conversations and that your tweets are making sense to your followers.
Do this and you will be more successful.
