Bridal Shower Games With a Cooking Theme

    The Apron Memory Game

    • Prepare an apron for this game before the shower. Clip or pin various kitchen objects onto the apron, such as measuring spoons, spatulas, silverware, napkins, spices, recipe cards and anything else you can think of. Attach at least 10 objects to the apron. Ask the bride to model the apron, standing in the center of the room so everyone can see her for about one or two minutes. Once she leaves the room, guests should write down everything they remember on the apron using paper and pencils you should provide. Give guests a few minutes to write out what they can remember, then ask the bride to rejoin the group. Name off items one by one, letting guests tally up how many items they successfully remembered. The winner should receive a gift and the bride should keep the apron as a keepsake, or to use in her new kitchen.

    Spice of Life

    • Pour a small amount of various spices or white powdery substances from the kitchen into different containers or clear baggies. Label the containers using numbers 1 through 10. Pass out paper and pens to each guest and let them examine the containers. Allow guests to smell or feel the contents as they desire, and write down what they think is inside of each container. Fill each container with a different spice, as in the "spice of life" or white powders for "name that white stuff." Using all white powders could include sugar, salt, baking soda, powdered sugar, powdered milk, flour and any other white powder you can think of. Whoever guesses the most correct answers should win a prize, such as a spice rack.

    Recipe of Marriage

    • Provide each guest with a blank recipe card and writing utensil. Instruct them to write out a recipe for marriage, or love, on one side of the card. This can be accomplished in a recipe format or simply offering tips or advice on sustaining a successful relationship. For a bride who loves trying new recipes, or needs to learn new recipes, you could also ask guests to provide their favorite food recipe on the opposite side of the card. Gather all of the recipe cards and put them in a recipe box specially decorated for the occasion including the bride's name and shower date. Although this isn't technically a game, it will provide the bride with lasting memories and advice from those who wish her well.
