Hi, my name is Kara Egan, I’m a Co-Founder of Scentsy. I have always been intrigued by how smelling different scents brought powerful emotions and memories to the surface, and how natural it was to share those feelings and memories with others. Scentsy began with a powerfully simply idea—a safe, wickless alternative to traditional candles—and quickly grew into one of the most successful direct selling companies in the industry. My sister-in-law and I started Scentsy because we were worried about having open flame candles in our homes and frustrated with the dangerous scented products that were on the market. We both saw huge potential with this innovative concept. We decided that if we were going to have a great product in our home, we were going to have to create it ourselves. We started Scentsy very humbly, in fact, we operated and ran the company out of our basement! Funny, right? Well, people liked it a lot more than we ever could have imagined. Now, seven years later, the company is still viable, profitable and growing exponentially.

Now fast forward almost seven years later, the company I started is still viable, profitable and growing exponentially; so exciting! I want you to know that I am still a consultant for Scentsy because I believe in the product, and more importantly--I am having a blast!
On July 1, 2004, Scentsy signed its first consultant and officially became a direct selling “Party Plan” company.
