How to Paint Wood Silver
- 1). Apply masking paper, sold in brown rolls at paint and home-improvement stores, to surfaces immediately beneath and adjacent to the wood, using painter's tape.
- 2). Coat the wood with a tinted latex primer, using a 2- to 4-inch paintbrush. Use a nylon brush on a coarse wood surface. Use a polyester brush on a slick wood surface. Brush with the wood grain, using gentle pressure. Allow the tinted primer to dry for two hours.
- 3). Rinse the brush with clean tap water.
- 4). Coat the wood with silver latex paint, using a clean brush. Brush vertically, using gentle pressure. Allow the tinted paint to dry for two hours.
