Ideas for Paper Craft Cards
- A single creative card can be made for any occasion. To make this simple card, you will need either blackboard paint or black acrylic paint. Make the basic outline of your card using a piece of colorful scrapbook paper. Fold it in half horizontally. Use the blackboard paint to paint a circle on the front of the card. Additional detailing can be added around the circle, such as glitter, ribbon or shapes from complementing colors of scrapbook paper. The best thing about these cards is that you can make a bundle of them and save them for the next occasion.
- For an unusual invitation to your Halloween party, make a card using simple household materials. Fold a piece of sturdy card stock in half horizontally, and paint one side using blackboard paint. While the paint is drying, make a small ghost using a couple of tissues. Ball one tissue up and wrap a tissue around the ball. Hold the ball in place using a black pipe cleaner. Rub white chalk onto the front, and use your finger to write "BOO!" Use acrylic paint-finishing spray to seal the chalk in place. After you write the details of your party on the inside of the card, glue the ghost in the upper right corner of the card.
- You can create a peek-a-boo Valentine's card for your secret crush or your kids. Use a piece of card stock for the base of the card. Fold the card stock in half vertically and turn it horizontally so it opens toward you. Fold both sides of the paper back to the original seam so the paper forms a "W." Flip the card stock so the center peak points upward, and cut two slits into the middle fold. Fold two pieces of notebook paper in half and weave them into the card stock slits. Add your message to the inside. Fold the two sides in and use a sticker to hold the card closed.
- You can make your own creative wedding invitations using patterned scrapbook paper. Use an elegant font to print the details of your wedding onto a white or off-white piece of thinner card stock. You can either cut out the printed section of the paper using a paper cutter, or use a smaller piece of paper that slips into the card. For the main card, glue an elegantly patterned piece of scrapbook paper inside a cream-colored piece. Use a calligraphy pen to write "You are Cordially Invited" or a similar message on the front of the card. Slip the detail paper into the card before putting it into the envelope.
