    • 1). Read the manual that came with your digital clock. Some operate slightly different than others.

    • 2). Plug your digital clock in to the nearest outlet. Make sure it is the outlet near where you plan on keeping your clock because if you unplug it, you will need to reset it again.

    • 3). Find the current time. You can get the current time from your watch, cell phone, laptop or even microwave.

    • 4). Look for a switch that either says "Setting" or "Select." If you don't see either of these, you will see a "Mode" button. Turn the Setting button to "Time Setting" or the Select button to "Local Time." If you have a digital clock that uses the Mode button, keep pressing it until it says "Time Set."

    • 5). Look for the "Hour" button and press it. Some digital clocks will automatically begin moving the hour from 12 to 12 in a cycle, and you will need to stop when it reaches the correct hour. Others will have up and down buttons next to the Hour button that you need to press while holding down the Hour button. If your digital clock uses the Mode button, just press it until the hours blink. Then use the up and down buttons to select the correct hour.

    • 6). Look for the "Minute" button and press it. Some digital clocks will automatically begin moving the minutes from 00 to 00 in a loop, and you will need to stop when it reaches the correct number of minutes. Others will have up and down buttons next to the Minute button that you need to press while holding down the Minute button. If your digital clock uses the Mode button, just press it until the minutes blink. Then use the up and down buttons to select the correct number of minutes.

    • 7). Let your clock begin running if it automatically does this after you have entered the hours and minutes. If not, turn the "Setting" switch one final time until it says "Run." If your clock uses the "Mode" setting, you will have to press it until the numbers stop blinking. Your digital clock will now display the correct hours and minutes.
