How to Decorate Spider Cupcakes
- 1). Bake your cupcakes in paper liners according to the recipe directions and allow them to cool to room temperature before you begin decorating.
- 2). Attach a doughnut hole to the center of each cupcake with icing. These doughnut holes form the heads of your spider cupcakes.
- 3). Cover the top of the cupcakes and the attached doughnut holes with chocolate icing. Each cupcake will appear to have a large bump on top of it.
- 4). Dip the top of the cupcake gently into a bowl filled with chocolate sprinkles. The chocolate sprinkles will make your spider cupcakes look hairy.
- 5). Press two small cinnamon candies onto each doughnut hole to give your spider cupcakes glowing red eyes.
- 6). Cut eight 2-inch lengths of black shoestring licorice for each cupcake.
- 7). Push one end of each piece of licorice into a black gum drop. If you have difficulty with this, you can make a small hole in the gumdrop with a toothpick and then insert the licorice.
- 8). Insert the other end of the licorice pieces into the cupcakes to give each spider eight legs.
