Satellite TV: My Team Won and I Got a Date
A man woke up on Sunday morning to watch his favorite team play on NFL Sunday Ticket. He was excited as his team had made the playoffs and had a good chance at getting to the big game. It would be the first time in over twenty years that they went to the championship game, and being such a big sports fan, he was very excited.
He turned on his HD television early that morning to catch all of the pre-game activities. All of the critics that they invited to the pre-game show said that his team had no chance of winning the game but he still had faith. He felt that it was his team's year. After all of the announcers got done smashing on his team, the game started. The first quarter went reasonably well. His team was only down by a field goal, which was ok considering that they were a huge underdog in that game. Hope was still alive.
The second quarter was not so pleasant as the opposing team scored a touchdown, and it went into half time with his team losing ten to zero. He was still convinced that they could do it. The third quarter opened up with a bang and his team returned the opening kickoff and scored a touchdown. Now they were only down by three points, which was reasonable. Then in the fourth quarter the opposing team threw an interception right in to the hands of a defender and he ran it all the way back for a touchdown. They went up fourteen to ten. That runback ended up being the winning touchdown.
He could not believe his eyes. His team won and was going to the championship game after twenty years! He jumped up and down shouting at his TV with happiness. They did it.
The next Thursday he was still riding the wave of glory and decided to go out to have some drinks with some buddies and celebrate the victory. He got off work at around six that evening and went home to cook some dinner and get cleaned up before going out. His two best friends were coming over to his house and from there, the three of them would go out for a night on the town.
They ended up leaving his house at about nine p.m. and they decided that they would go to a new bar that one of them had discovered downtown recently. They got there, all ordered beers and played some pool. They liked the bar but it was by no means their favorite. So after a game of pool and a beer they decided to move on to another place that was more their style.
There they ordered another round off beers and toasted to the glorious victory that past Sunday. Right then the man noticed out of the corner of his eye that a beautiful girl was looking at him. He was feeling good so he walked up to her and they began talking. They hit it off and he invited her over to his house for dinner and a movie on his high definition television that coming weekend. She obliged, gave him her number, and they both went home excited.
