50th High School Reunion Activities

104 7

    Dancing

    • Prepare a long list of songs from your high school generation. Keep a nice mix of dance songs and slower romantic music. Health may keep some guests from dancing, but the music sets the mood for the entire room. Keep the volume at a moderate level -- low enough for people to talk but loud enough for people to dance. Make sure the dance area is clear of tables, chairs and personal belongings, as these things could cause mishaps.

    Display

    • Ask guests to bring a few things from their high school days. Old letterman jackets, pictures or even a prom dress are perfect. Talk to the school officials to see if they will provide some space in their school for these items. Place them decoratively within the space. Add an old graduation school picture along with a new picture of the reunion to complete the setting.

    Collage Book

    • Request some personal pictures from guests. Ask them to include pictures of their kids and themselves throughout the years. Create an album out of the pictures. Include their school picture from an old album, their name and their family pictures. If your reunion budget permits, create copies of the album for each guest. The result is a treasured keepsake, which everyone can enjoy for years to come.

    Cameras

    • Place an inexpensive throwaway camera at each seat or hand them out at the door as people enter. Let them keep their cameras and give them the chance to snap pictures of old friends. Suggest that they share addresses and phone numbers so they can send duplicate pictures to each other or post the pictures online.

    Stories

    • In preparation for the reunion, speak to the potential guests and ask them to write down some of their favorite high school stories. Collect these stories and put them in a printed handout. Give the handout to classmates at the reunion. Take some time during the evening to read a few of the more touching stories to the crowd. Alternatively, you can also ask them to include stories from their lives since high school.
