Drinking on your next cryptid expedition?
In November 2006, National Geographic Channel began screening one of their hour-long documentaries in the "Is It Real?" Series. It was on the Almas of Mongolia and the Almasty allegedly populating the Caucasus. They called their program, "Russian Bigfoot." Craig Woolheater's post here stimulated some intriguing comments, on both sides of the fence...
Missing slab could unlock mysteries of past
Missing: one incised slab.

Collector value: thousands of dollars. Historical value: priceless. For the past few years, archaeologist Tracy Brown has combed flea markets and collector shows across Tennessee and the Southeast, hoping to stumble upon the owner of a small stone slab first discovered in east Nashville 40 years ago...

A spirit named "Raj"
When I was actively investigating UFOs, years ago, I didn't much care for that particular avocation, and I gave it up, early on, with the understanding that there was already a veritable pyrite* mine of "carefully investigated" UFO accounts out there to analyze - and it was quite apparent that each year's addition to that pile of "carefully investigated" cases on the part of others wasn't bringing any clarity to the muddle...

Flights of fancy, or UFOs?
Unexplained bright lights, `ghost' jets and mysterious shattering windscreens . . . have our nation's airline pilots made contact with alien intelligence? Reports obtained by the M.E.N. under the Freedom of Information Act show there have been 13 reports of unidentified flying objects to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) by air crew since 2000...

Man claims to heal through aura imaging
When Otto Csanki was 14, a horse kicked him in the stomach. He wasn't expected to live. "I trained horses for dressage, for circuses," Csanki, 50, said. "An Arabian stallion accidentally kicked me. I was in the hospital for 18 months. The doctors gave me little or no chance to live." It was then the Hungarian learned he was different from others -- divinely gifted, as he might say. He healed himself by directing and redirecting healing energies he saw emanating from the healthy areas of his own body toward his afflicted area. He soon recovered from his injuries and thought no more about it...

Psychic predictions for the world
Each year I do predictions around the end of December for the coming year and put them up for everyone to see and to advise me when they come true. This year I have found myself putting this job off. Last year I saw myself getting anxious because generally the things I see aren't all that good. At least with individuals I can find some good happening...

Livestock predator still a mystery, two months after its death
Even after wolves were hunted, trapped and poisoned out of existence in most of Montana, lone predators continued to haunt sheepherders. There was the White Wolf of the Judith Basin, hunted for 15 years, and the Ghost Wolf of the Little Rockies. "These things became mythological," said Ed Bangs, the Fish and Wildlife Service recovery coordinator for the Rocky Mountains. "Some people said they had supernatural powers." They were, however, wolves. Wildlife officials are not sure what the latest phantom livestock killer was...

Unexplained blobjects
Several months ago, I came across a favorite new word, my neologism of the year. Blobsquatch. While examining the questionable Sasquatch (Bigfoot) photos that pop up regularly on the Cryptomundo blog, I was introduced to the descriptive term "Blobsquatch" - a perfect label for those photos that show a dark or washed out, undetailed mass usually surrounded by trees or half-obscured by other natural features...
