How to Build an Eco Greenhouse

    • 1). Prepare your site by ensuring that the ground is level. Lay the level on the ground in several locations to ensure it is flat. Building on uneven ground will make the process more difficult. If the ground is not flat, change your building site or level the ground by moving dirt.

    • 2). Assemble the frame from the wooden planks. Lay two 3.3 yard planks and two 2.2 yard planks in a square. Nail them together to create the base. Take your four custom planks and attach one to each corner, securing with nails. Assemble the remaining planks into a square as you did the base and raise it onto the frame. Secure to vertical planks with nails.

    • 3). Build towers from the bottles. Cut the bottom of the bottles with the saw. Cut two 'tabs' into the sides of each bottle to prevent it slipping down. To create the 'tab', cut two slits and bend the plastic out. Once bottles have been cut, slide one into another until tower is height of greenhouse.

    • 4). Nail bottom bottle of each tower to greenhouse frame and position along bottom frame. Add extra strength by wrapping metal wire around the greenhouse horizontally, at different heights. Secure by wrapping around the head of a nail embedded into the frame. Remember to leave a space for a door way.

    • 5). Add roof, by covering with plastic sheeting and nailing it tight to the frame. A door can be created using plastic sheeting. Nail plastic sheeting to the top and one side of the frame. Flap can be used to enter and exit and can be pinned at bottom to seal the greenhouse.
