How to Install Clock Hands
- 1). Determine the correct time to be displayed by the minute hand. This should be the time recorded, plus the adjustment that's made at the bushing.
- 2). Slide the minute hand back onto the shaft. Slide it on evenly without forcing anything.
- 3). Turn the hand nut finger tight.
- 4). Make sure the hand points to the correct position---the recorded time plus the adjustment.
- 5). Repeat the bushing adjustment if the hand isn't pointing to the correct time.
- 6). Tighten the hand nut with the pliers. Don't over-tighten it.
- 7). Start the pendulum. Open the door of the clock, and grasp the pendulum with your right hand. Swing it to the left and let go. The clock should start. Reset the time by moving the minute hand counterclockwise. Don't move the hour hand; it will adjust on its own in sync with the minute hand.
