How to Add Trim to an Entertainment Center
- 1). Remove the doors of the entertainment center, using your screwdriver to take them off the hinges. Lay them out where you can work on them.
- 2). Take a measurement of the top edge of the first entertainment center door. Put a pencil mark two or three inches in from the end of a piece of trim, along the top. Measure off that mark to the length that you took from the door. Put a second mark at that point.
- 3). Put the trim on your miter saw, face up, with top edge facing the blade and one mark in front of it. Turn the blade to 45 degrees in, so it points toward the middle of the trim. Make the cut.
- 4). Move the trim to the side, putting the second mark in line with the blade. Swivel the blade to 45 degrees inward again, which will be in the opposite direction from before. Cut the trim.
- 5). Apply hot glue to the back of the trim, in lines set back slightly from the edges, so you get full coverage without glue seeping past the edge. Press the trim into place on the first entertainment center door, with the top edge of the trim lined up to the top edge of the door and the mitered cuts angling inward from the two corners.
- 6). Measure, cut and glue three more pieces of trim to form the perimeter around the door. Repeat for each door. Let them dry overnight. Reinstall the doors.
