iPhone Benefits
- As of this writing the iPhone is in the fourth generation. The first generation of the iPhone came out in 2007, so Apple has had four years to perfect the interface and hardware of the iPhone and create an experience that is both intuitive and largely cleared of bugs and errors. The "retina display" means that the iPhone's screen resolution produces images and text that are as sharp as the human eye can discern. Additionally, four years' worth of apps and experimentation with jail-breaking means that there's even more for iPhone users to choose from.
- There is an application for almost anything for the iPhone. You can manage your mobile services, such as with Vonage, Skype, or Google Voice. You can check your Facebook and update Twitter. There are thousands of games to choose from. The accurate GPS functionality of the iPhone enables hundreds of navigation and location-based apps. Because the iPhone is one of the most popular smartphones available, developers of major apps and services almost always offer an iPhone app.
- The iPhone comes with the iPod built-in. You can listen to your music and watch videos on your phone, and even purchase new media using the built-in iTunes store. By linking your credit card to your Apple account, you can have new media on your iPhone in a couple clicks no matter where you are.
- You can use your iPhone for many of same functions as your laptop in a much smaller size, making it perfect for frequent travelers. You can check your e-mail, browse the Internet, attend video conferences via Cisco Webex or Skype, and manage files on your cloud servers, including Dropbox, MobileMe (Apple) and Amazon Cloud Drive. Using the web browser, you can manage documents with Google Docs.
- The iPhone has a feature known as Personal Hotspot, which allows you to turn your iPhone's 3G access into a wi-fi network. If you're travelling on a regular basis and need to access the Internet on your laptop but don't have wi-fi access, having an iPhone offers another level of portability to your devices.
