How to Modify a Corolla
- 1). Place a screwdriver or pry bar between the hubcap and the metal rim. Make sure that you do not have the screwdriver's fulcrum point located between the tire bed and the rim. The screwdriver should have the rim part on one side and the hubcap's retention ring on the other.
- 2). Pry the old hubcap off of your rim. It is okay if you scratch the rim as it will be covered up by your new hubcap.
- 3). Place your new hubcap on the rim so that the retention ring is located just inside the lip of the rim. Make sure that the hubcap's valve stem opening is placed over the valve stem as it is designed to be located.
- 4). Place a rag over your new hubcap and strike the outside edges of the hubcap with a rubber mallet to firmly seat the hub cap's retention ring in the lip of the rim. Go around the circumference of the hub cap as necessary.
- 5). Examine the fitting of your hub cap to see that it is flush with the wheel and evenly seated.
- 6). Give the hubcap a firm push with your hand to make sure that the retention ring is properly seated in the hub cap's lip. If it is not use your rubber mallet to hit the unseated portion of the hub cap until it is firmly seated.
- 7). Repeat this process on your other three wheels.
