Lose Pounds With These Simple Diet Tips

Losing weight is Americas' # 1 obsession.
In fact, you cannot pick up a magazine or newspaper without the words screaming at you, " How I lost 10 pounds in 1 week?" "I lost three dress sizes.
" "Lose 40 pounds quickly.
" And the list goes on and on.
Weight loss is a multimillion dollar industry in this day and age and there are thousands and thousands of diets out there.
Some of these diets are quite bizarre in my opinion.
They all promise the same thing fast weight loss with little effort.
Okay, lets' be serious.
Anyone who has had a weight problem knows that there is no magic formula to weight loss.
The truth of the matter is that it isn't easy to lose weight at all.
It takes determination and dedication.
And believe me it will never happen all that quickly.
Here are some simple diet tips that I have learned that work are:
  • Drink plenty of fluids,preferably water, 8, 8 oz.
    glasses day.
    If you have trouble drinking that much water you can add sugar free drink mix packets to it.
  • Stay completely away from any type of diet soda.
    What happens is the artificial sweetener in them tends to tell the brain that you are really getting something that contains sugar.
    When that does not occur your system gets the false symptom of being hungry.
  • Plan ahead if you are going to a party or dinner engagement.
    Take food with you that compliments your diet.
    You can tactfully slip them in to replace the fat foods that are on the menu.
    If your host is a true friend they will applaud your choice to be healthy.
  • Eating out is always a challenge.
    So why not ask to see the menu when you go into a restaurant before you are seated.
    And please don't be ashamed to ask for changes to your order to make it healthier and fat free.
  • Eat healthy meals and snacks.
    Try to avoid those 100 calorie snack packs of cookies, candy snacks, and the like.
    There are filled with empty calories and you will soon find out one pack is usually not enough.
    In turn eat a lot of whole grains and fiber filled foods.
    They fill you up and tend to take away the hunger pains.
  • Start your morning off with a protein.
    There are many choices here yogurt, egg white omelettes, turkey bacon, to name a few.
    They will get you through that tough part of the morning.
In closing I would just like to say the most important tip of them all is to use common sense.
If a diet or weight loss program seems too good to be true it probably is.
