How to Draw an Easy Beach
- 1). Place your paper horizontally on a table or flat surface which you can draw on. Draw a straight line using your pencil and ruler one third of the way up the sheet of paper. If you are having trouble getting your line straight, measure the same length out on each side and make a small dot. Connect the two dots using your ruler for a straight line. This will be the line where the sand meets the water.
- 2). Draw another straight line approximately 1 inch up from the first line you have drawn. This will be where the water meets the horizon.
- 3). Draw a sun by placing a small cup, coin or jar one third of the way in from the top right-hand corner of your paper. You may place your object face up or face down, depending on how large you want your sun to be. Using your pencil, draw around the circumference of your circular object.
- 4). Freehand draw a few scattered, squiggly lines between the two straight lines you have drawn in Steps 1 and 2. These lines will represent ripples in the water. Do not draw any lines directly below the sun you made in Step 3.
- 5). Draw four to five more squiggly lines directly below the sun, in the area you drew your water ripples. Draw one squiggly line that is approximately the same width as your sun. After this continue to draw three to four more lines below, centered, each being slightly smaller than the first with 1/4 inch of space in between. This will represent the sun's reflection in the water.
- 6). Draw two small, lower case m's about half an inch from your sun, one on each side. These m's represent birds in the sky.
- 7). Add some mountains in the background if you wish to make your beach drawing a bit more interesting. Put your mountains to the left-hand side of your scene, so that the image as a whole is balanced. Draw upward from the line where the water meets the horizon and create a few jagged lines on top, then bring your line back down to the water and horizon point. Your mountains should not be taller than the sun. Draw one or two more mountains
