The typical burning and pressure of indigestion pain will be present, as well as possible nausea, vomiting, a fowl or acidy taste in the mouth, burning in throat and at the back of the mouth, and bloating, but there may be other things that you need to look for.
When indigestion is accompanied by pain or numbness in the jaw, shoulders, back, sides, arms, or chest, you may need to consider the possibility that you are not suffering mere stomach acid issues.
Seek the treatment of a medical professional as soon as possible, or alert someone that you fear something more serious so that they can take care of it for you.
Indigestion pain is a nasty issue, and can cause hours of pacing and burning.
There are things that you can do to prevent such problems, or at least to help them subside more quickly.
First off, you will be far more likely to suffer indigestion pain if you are prone to a stressful day to day lifestyle, so try to slow down and take some relaxation time for yourself.
I know it can be hard with tough jobs and demanding families, but you aren't any good to anyone if you are ill, unrested, and running on empty.
Take the time to cool out and eat some non heavy, non greasy, and smaller things throughout the day and early evening.
Now then, if you enjoy drinking alcohol, you may be pushing yourself into the realm of stomach problems which cause indigestion pain, and you should consider slowing or stopping your alcohol intake altogether, but at least during the later evening hours.
Any time you can lay down for bed with a stomach that is not full you will be ahead of the game.
Also, caffeine, nicotine, and heavy oils will cause indigestion pain, so avoidance of these types of foods and substances will be a great help to you.
Once you have been set upon by indigestion pain, there are a few remedies that will help you to recover and find some comfort.
If you are not pregnant, you may want to dissolve one teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of lukewarm water.
Drink this over the next ten minutes or so in small gulps, walking around while you do so.
The result that you are looking for is a series of belches, and do not fight these back whatever you do.
Manners have no place in the fight against indigestion pain, so let the burps fly and get rid of the gas pain quickly.
