How to Sync an iPod & Windows Media Player Series 9
- 1). Place the rectangular USB plug on the iPod cable into the USB port on your computer. Plug the other end of the iPod cable into the thin rectangular port on the bottom of the iPod. Wait for the Windows Media Player to pop up automatically. If the Windows Media Player does not pop up, double-click the Windows Media Player icon.
- 2). Click the "Sync" tab in Windows Media Player. Click the arrow below the tab and select the iPod from the list. Click "Set Up Sync" to set up the sync between the iPod and the Windows Media Player. Select the playlist that you wish to sync between the iPod and Windows Media Player. Add music to your playlist in Windows Media Player, making sure to save any changes you make. You drag and drop the music files from your library into the playlist to mark the music. Click the "Sync Automatically" box to setup the sync to happen automatically. Wait for the Windows Media Player to internalize the commands and then for the music files to be transferred. The transfer can take several minutes depending on the amount of data to be transferred.
- 3). Click "File" and then "Exit" in Windows Media Player when you are done syncing the iPod to Windows Media Player. Pull the connection plug out of the bottom of the iPod and then from the USB port on the computer. Plug a pair of headphones into the iPod. Scroll through the music to make sure all the music transferred. If the files did not transfer, you need to resync the iPod to Windows Media Player.
