This is a Leader"s Goal and Purpose, and If it Be Otherwise There is Something Critically Wrong
When we move from Psalm 132 to Psalm 133 it is as if we move from "Union with the Lord" to "Union with the Brothers", and that is the order in which we must always keep it.
Union with brother believers and amongst brother believers is what Jesus prays for in John Chapter 17.
You can have union once you have got rid of cherished ideas of yourself.
Or, to achieve 'union' you have to be willing and prepared to have your cherished ideas of yourself demolished and removed.
When you are united with God through Jesus Christ and when the Holy Spirit is flowing within you, then, you can pray, "Now, Lord, unite me with my brothers".
And, you cannot be united with, nor can you pray with, anyone whom you criticise.
That is just a fact.
Try it.
Try praying with someone you have been criticising and you will either stop praying with that person or you will cease to criticise.
Jesus Christ prayed that we might be ONE and such union is like soothing ointment on a sore, and oh how this world needs soothing ointment and peace and healing.
This is where we demonstrate unity; in the body of Christ; and the moment there is honest sincere unity, God commands a blessing.
An anointing falls.
When we remember the situation on the day of Pentecost, as the Church of Jesus Christ was launched and birthed, that anointing power of God was given to men who were one, and to men who were united, and to men who were patiently waiting for God to work and move.
Jesus Christ poured out the Holy Spirit.
These men were one in heart and one in purpose, with one aim and one goal.
They were out to worship the living God and to win the world for Christ.
They remembered Jesus' words.
Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and be teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
That is exactly what they did.
This is our calling.
This is exactly what the Church of Jesus Christ has been seeking to do over all these years.
This is our aim, our goal, our purpose, and if it is anything other and anything else, then we have lost sight of our calling in Christ.
When brothers live together in unity, it is good and pleasant.
How good and how pleasant it is.
Do read the Psalm and also I Corinthians Chapter 3 and John's Gospel Chapter 17.
We need these fundamental passages when it come to such a vitally crucial topic.
