Two passions in life by Richard Roberts
It's my passion. I have two passions in life. Number one, is to pray for the sick. I'm called as an evangelist in the healing ministry. My second passion is Oral Roberts University. Raising up young men and women to hear the voice of God and to go to the nations of the earth. I'm calling on churches and ministries to put Oral Roberts University in your missions budget, at $100 a month, or $200 a month, or $500 a month, or $1000 a month, or whatever it is that the Lord lays on your heart. I'm asking you to pray about it tonight, and invest and be a partner. This is a win-win-win-win. Your church wins by having a link and a university that is yours, prepared for you. ORU wins, and the students come. The student him or herself wins, and then the world wins, as they go out to touch the nations of the earth. I'm calling on you tonight to make an investment, and to do it on a regular monthly basis and to make a commitment. And then I'm also announcing something else. About 3 or 4 weeks ago, the Holy Spirit awakened me at 3 o?clock in the morning and told me, "Beyond all of this, I want you raise up 300 Gideon pastors." I said, "What do you mean, 300 Gideon pastors?" He said, "You call on 300 pastors, and you make it hard for them to be a part of this." I said, "What do you mean?" And He took me back to the Bible and had me re-read the story of how Gideon had an army, and how God kept paring the army down and down and down and down until He found 300 who would lap water like a dog. And it was with those few 300 that he defeated the Midianite army. And God said, "Beyond what you're doing with this Minister's Alliance that I'm announcing tonight, you raise up an additional 300 ministers who would take ORU as a prayer partner and under gird us with intercessory prayer and make a financial commitment of $1000 a month, each month. And then we would turn around and invest scholarships back into those churches and into those ministries. The Lord said, "Make it hard to get in. Make requirements, just like I did with Gideon." And I've asked Pastor George Pearsons, and I've asked Brother Jude Fuquay and others, who will stand with me, and who will help me be like a screening, to find the 300 that God wants, and to select them, and to do something great for God, and to ensure the future of this place for you and for your son and your daughter and your niece and your nephew and your grandchild.
And I'm going to ask you to join hands with somebody and pray. And I'm going to ask you to fill out this commitment card, and then, those of you who'd like to have information, more information about it, I'll meet you for breakfast tomorrow morning at the Hilton Hotel, at 7:30. Heavenly Father, in the authority of Jesus" name, I praise You and thank You right now. You said to my father this morning, or earlier, and we heard him as he shared about it this morning, You said, "Raise up your students to hear My voice, and to go where My light is seen dim, My voice is heard small, My power is not known, even to the uttermost bounds of the earth, and their work will exceed yours." Lord, it's happening. Just in who we heard from tonight, and the thousands and thousands of others, it's happening. It's happening on every front. And how I thank You for this awesome privilege of serving in this position here at ORU. And thank You for an anointing, and thank You that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church. And thank You, Lord, that ORU is part of the church, in that we're reaching out with the healing, saving, delivering power of God through faith in Jesus" name in every walk of life. Lord, I pray that every church would make a commitment tonight to partner with ORU in the authority of Jesus? name. And everybody said, amen.
