The Easy Way to Come Up With Ebook Topic Ideas
This article is about brainstorming e-book topic ideas.
This is actually something that a lot of people struggle with.
Part of the problem is that we oftentimes want to write about topics that are of personal interest to us.
The dilemma is that this doesn't always translate into an e-book that other people are interested in buying.
What I'm about to suggest is a nice way to brainstorm ideas.
I think you might like and enjoy this process because it actually involves getting out of your house or apartment for a while and spending some time in the company of other people.
Here's what you do.
Take a ride to your local library or your local bookstore.
I want you to specifically go to the magazine section.
Here's something you need to understand about magazines.
Magazines make their money primarily by selling advertising.
The only way a magazine can find advertisers is if the topic of the magazine is of interest to a lot of people.
Do you sort of see where I'm going with this? Take a look at the magazines and see what they're all about.
Notice the kinds of articles that are in the magazines and the types of topics that the magazines have a tendency to revolve around.
You start to notice a pattern.
For example there are a lot of magazines about diet and nutrition.
There are not so many magazines (none, as far as I'm aware of) about head lice.
This is a bit of an extreme example but my point is that diet and nutrition is a topic that you can spend the rest of your career as an e-book publisher writing about.
How did we discover this? By looking around and seeing what topics magazines have a tendency to focus on.
That's a fun and relatively easy way to come up with e-book topic ideas.
