How do I Build LED Replacement Lights?
- 1). Strip about a half-inch of each end of both seven-inch wires. Use wire strippers.
- 2). Attach a seven-inch wire to each lead located in the base of the floodlight bulb. Make the connection with solder and the soldering iron. Allow the solder to dry.
- 3). Strip one inch of insulation from either wire about one inch behind the base of the floodlight bulb.
- 4). Solder the toggle switch wires to the exposed wire connected to the lead of the floodlight bulb. Allow the solder to dry.
- 5). Drill a hole in the middle of the side of the PVC pipe. The hole should be large enough for your toggle switch to fit through.
- 6). Slide the flashlight bulb, toggle switch and wires into the PVC pipe. The face of the bulb should be flush with the end of the pipe.
- 7). Seal the bulb and toggle switch in place with J-B Weld.
- 8). Cover all soldered connections with electrical tape.
- 9). Solder the ends of the wires that remain unconnected to the leads of the snap connector. Attach one wire to each lead.
- 10
Connect the battery holder with the snap connector to the ends of the wires that are attached to the leads of the other snap connector. If needed, strip insulation from the wires to make room for this connection. - 11
Place enough foam inside the pipe to keep everything from shaking around. - 12
Insert four AAA batteries into the the battery holder. Then insert the battery holder into the end of the pipe. - 13
Attach a PVC cap to the end of the PVC pipe farthest from the bulb. Seal in place with J-B Weld. Allow the weld to dry.
