How Can You Make People Sit Long On Your Site?
I went to the computer shop yesterday and I was amazed with what I saw to most of the people in there at how long they sit on the site especially if the site is full and packed of useful information and with fresh daily content. I find it interesting and with the use of Google Analytics I found out that the time spend by the people in my Realtown blog is much higher compared with my other sites. This is the most active, frequently updated and the oldest blog that I have so far. The time people spent on my blog went down from the average of eight minutes down to five minutes now.
The reasons I think that the time spent in my blogs went down are:
- I do not post as frequently than before
- Not keeping my content fresh and up-to-date
- Not adding links to past post can really get them off your site
- A little bit lazy and not adding contact information or at least a signature in the box.
- The number of words matters, short post is not always good, unless you make your point in just few words
- Less interaction with your blogs means less opportunity and less money
When it comes to search engine my site always wins the fight between them with my Realtown blog. I know that oftentimes my site traffic is directly coming from my Realtown blog.
