103 23
According to my physical therapist most back pain sufferers don't require surgery.
In fact only a small percentage need surgery.
Unfortunately for me I was one of the unlucky few who had surgery.
However for most people the pain usually goes away.
Regrettably for many the pain returns.
Determining the causes of pain is difficult.
Nearly 95% of the time x-rays and MRI won't show any real problems.
The cause of back discomfort is more likely due to muscle imbalance.
So what is muscle imbalance and how can it be cured? For most of us this imbalance is cause by our modern lifestyle.
Unless you are a trained athletic or exercise regularly you probably have some muscle imbalance right now.
We are sedentary creatures.
We drive to work sit at desk, drive home, eat dinner and flop on the couch until it's time for bed.
If this describes you - you probably have some imbalance.
Over time this muscle imbalance can play havoc with your back.
This leads to excessive force being applied unevenly to your spinal column.
This results in a number of conditions such as: 1.
Disc degeneration.
2.
Herniated or bulging disc.
3.
Spinal Stenois.
4.
Spurring and arthritis.
Imbalance makes you prone to injury and can lead to muscle spasms.
So what can you do? Fortunately there are exercises that can restore muscle balance.
Once your muscles are back in balance your pain with fade away.
These exercises and movements are very specialized and should be developed specifically for you.
Remember not all exercises are good for your back and may actually cause more harm.
