What Games Should I Play at My Sweet 16 Party?

    Denim and Diamonds Scavenger Hunt

    • The denim and diamonds scavenger hunt is played with clues that lead the players to bags filled with costume jewelry within the party area. First, go to thrift stores and other second-hand stores to purchase costume jewelry, as well as denim jeans. The denim is going to be cut up, so you could also purchase denim scraps or fabric from a fabric store. With a glitter paint pen, write a clue on each index card, and number that clue on the back of the index cards. These numbers will coordinate with numbered jewelry bags or boxes that are hidden. Clues should relate to the object to be found; for instance, "Which jewelry store has a signature color named after them" The answer would be "Tiffany's" and it might lead to a bag or box with a tiffany-blue color. Place the jewelry boxes or bags that contain costume jewelry around the party room, and inside each bag include the denim party favor. To make the favors, cut the denim into heart shapes and then glue rhinestones on them. Have one clue and coordinating jewelry box for each player, with the winner of this game being the player who found their item first.

    Dance-Off

    • Dance-off is played by having all of the party guests dancing to music, and once the music stops, they have to stop dancing. Anyone still dancing when the music stops gets disqualified. The game is over when there are one or two dancers left who have not been disqualified. The music can be a CD that is started and stopped, or a DJ who is instructed as to what to do. Prizes are given out to the winners of the dance-off.

    Balloon Truth or Dare

    • Balloon truth or dare is played by each player popping a balloon and doing the truth or dare that is on the card. First purchase a stack of index cards and cut them into pieces large enough to write on, but small enough to fit inside of a balloon. You want at least two cards for each player. Write "truth" or a "dare" on each card and place them inside the balloons, then blow up the balloons. When the game starts, have the players pop balloons one at a time, and either tell a truth or do the dare on the card found inside the balloon. This game continues until all balloons have been popped.

    Pairing Off

    • Write well-known couples or pairs on index cards; they might be couples like Bonnie and Clyde, or paired objects like coffee and tea. Tape one card on the back of each player's back, without telling that player which card they have. Each player goes around the room asking others yes or no questions about their own cards. For example "Am I a superhero?" The winner of this game is the first player who correctly guesses who they are.
