103 13
Do you know any kids who love their vegetables? No, me neither.
This is the most common food that is disliked by kids.
It doesn't matter that they are good for them, they just don't like them.
Creativity and patience is the key to getting your child to eat vegetables.
Here are a few tips to try; you should be surprised how receptive they are to these ideas.
One of the first steps is to get them eating them as early as possible.
When your baby is about 12 months old, they will basically eat anything, unless they are ridiculously picky.
Their taste buds will soon adapt to the flavor of the vegetable that you have given them.
You have basically educated their taste buds to accept these flavors and when they grow older, they will continue to eat these foods as their taste buds are already used to them.
Don't make the dinner table a battle ground.
If you make a salad or something similar and order them to eat it you are fighting a losing battle.
This is going to make them hate them even more so no shouting.
When you prepare a vegetable meal, sit down with them and eat yours with a lot of smiles and appreciative sounds.
Your creative side can really come into its own here.
Arrange the vegetables so they are their favorite TV characters such as Big Bird or Barney.
Use a lot if different veggies and make eating them fun.
This creativity will greatly help your children to eat their vegetables with out any tears or fuss.
Don't make mealtimes a time of arguments or tears.
Stop the aggressiveness and go with the flow, what they have one day they may not want the next so keep their veggies varied.
