Patriot's Point is located in Mount Pleasant, about 10 minutes east of Charleston, South Carolina. It's the home of the USS Yorktown, a World War II aircraft carrier. The Naval and Maritime Museum is hosted inside the docked vessel and several adjacent buildings. Several hotels nearby provide travelers with an opportunity to explore the large museum, which examines naval military history in depth. - As its name suggests, the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina combines a hotel, meeting space, marina and restaurant into a resort for visitors to Charleston. It is located on the harbor, less than half a mile from the museum, and offers rooms, suites, and enough docking slips to host more than 450 boats.
In summer, the Charleston Water Taxi stops here hourly; at other times, you can use the resort's trolley service to travel downtown. This is a full service resort that offers special programs, including themed get-togethers and the Mini Mariners program, with crafts, entertainment and games for children. The onsite Reel Bar serves drinks, or you can eat at the Indigo Grille, a fine dining restaurant. Room service is also available. Additional amenities include a private beach, pool, Jacuzzi and bicycle rentals. - Days Inn of Mount Pleasant is across the Cooper River from Charleston, accessible by the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. It's located a little over one mile from Patriot's Point, or a six-minute drive. Rooms have standard amenities, plus a microwave. An onsite restaurant, Huddle House, is open 24 hours a day, or you can walk to other choices, including Wendy's, Sticky Fingers and Moe's Southwest Grill. The hotel offers guests a courtyard and pool, and has enough parking for trucks and buses. Pets are allowed and the wireless Internet is free.

The hotel is in Mount Pleasant, about a mile northeast of Patriot's Point. The hotel offers free continental breakfast and coffee, free wireless Internet and standard amenities in its rooms. Some rooms have Jacuzzis and you can choose from accessible, smoking or nonsmoking rooms. You can also work out the kinks in the onsite gym or outdoor pool. Guests have access to office machinery, a convenience store, laundry room and valet service. The closest restaurant is the barbecue joint, Sticky Fingers, on the doorstep; you'll find numerous other restaurants, both local and chain, within 1 to 2 miles. Examples include Henry's, Outback Steakhouse and Zeus Grill.

Smoking and nonsmoking hotel rooms come with standard amenities and free wireless Internet. You can add a microwave and fridge for a small fee and several rooms are handicapped-equipped. Continental breakfast, a weekday newspaper and coffee are free, but Sticky Fingers is opposite this hotel and you'll find local and chain restaurants, as diverse as McDonald's and Los Arco Mexican restaurant, within 3 miles. No pets are allowed here, but children 17 and under stay for free with a paying adult.
