How to Adjust a Circle Cutter
- 1). Determine the desired diameter of the circle you'd like to cut with the circle cutter. The extension of the blade end or cutting arm limits the size of the circle.
- 2). Examine your circle cutter, noting where the cutting arm connects to the base of the cutter. There should be a dial or screw that, when tightened, secures the arm in place.
- 3). Loosen the dial or screw so that the cutting arm can be moved toward or away from the base. Typically a counterclockwise motion will loosen it.
- 4). Move the cutting arm in or out, until the distance from the blade to the center of the circle cutter corresponds to the radius of your desired circle. (The radius is half the distance of the circle's diameter, or the distance from the center to the edge.)
- 5). Tighten the dial or screw so that the cutting arm is secure.
