The Camping Essentials That You Couldn’T Cope Without

105 31
When packing for any type of holiday, it is not ideal to leave your essentials behind. However, with a camping holiday, it can become somewhat of a nightmare if you forget one of your must have items whilst you are miles away from any shops. Before heading out into the great outdoors, it is worth writing yourself a to-do list to ensure that you donâEUR(TM)t forget any of the essentials that you can only purchase from a specialised shop. You will find that in many campsites, the only nearby shops are convenience shops which only sell the basics.
Of course, no camping trip would be complete without a tent. The tent that you choose is entirely up to you. These days, tents come in all shapes and sizes, pop up tents, kidâEUR(TM)s tents, novelty tents, even VW camper van tents. When it comes to choosing a tent, you will be spoiled for choice.

There are a few little items which your tent would be useless without: pegs. Make sure that you bring plenty of spare tent pegs as you will soon find that pegs regularly become lost or bent after a few outdoors trips. Remember to bring a plastic mallet to hammer your pegs into place. If you are camping in hard ground, it can be very difficult to push pegs into place.

Be sure to bring one sleeping bag per person, along with a camping mat. The surface of fields is surprisingly bumpy and rocky, so you need a barrier between yourself and the ground besides your sleeping bag. If you own an airbed, bring it along if it fits into your tent. An airbed is quite a luxury whilst camping, particularly if you have had a long day walking and want to retreat to a comfortable bed.
Never go on a camping trip without a torch. Many campsites are far away from the lights of cities and towns and not all campsites provide lighting. Finding your way around your tent or to the toilets at night can be extremely difficult without a light.

If you plan on cooking, bring a cool box with whatever food you want to cook on the barbecue but donâEUR(TM)t bring too much! Food will perish within a day, becoming a risk to your health. Always dispose of any food from the cool box which has become warm, especially meats and cheeses.
