Reflections by Jill - A Weekly Commentary for OLTL for November 9, 2009
Amidst all the chaos in Llanview and all over the country right now for the citizens of 'One Life to Live,' I have to say that the one thing that has made me smile all week was Nora and Bo looking each other in the eye and admitting their feelings for each other after what seems like 100 years. I know, I know, some people don’t want them back together and I’m sorry to those of my buddies who can’t stand this couple together (I do love you guys, even if you do call them Bo and Snora.) But here sits one happy camper.
I loved it when Bo finally admitted that he’s in love with Nora and always has been and I was thrilled when she admitted the same to him. I also really liked Nora’s honesty when she didn’t let Bo off the hook that easily. She reminded him of all the years that she longed for and begged him for forgiveness for her involvement with Sam when they were married. She told him that he couldn’t understand the guilt and shame she hauled around all these years, years that he could never forgive her and couldn’t stand the sight of her. My favorite line came when she remembered how she begged and pleaded for forgiveness and Bo said, “And look what it got me.” Bo finally admitted that what happened between Nora and Sam happened because she loved him and he finally, sincerely admitted that he forgave her. I don’t condone what Nora did with Sam (although I did like Sam Rappaport), but this couple needs to move forward finally and I am cheering them on.
So, Bo and Nora fall into each other’s arms and in marches David Vickers.
David, I adore you, but you are such a buzz kill! This isn’t the first time that David realized that his daddy and Nora belong together and he is all for it, encouraging Bo to go for it. Bo and Nora finally get to talk about what they’re going to do now and they realize how hard this is going to be because they both do love Clint, but they know they need to be together. I could have smacked them both when Nora said, “Why didn’t I stop the wedding?” and Bo asked the same stupid question. Both of them admitted that they were waiting for the other to do just that. What dummies! I was screaming throughout that entire wedding while their eyes were glued to each other over Clint’s shoulder. Oh well. Nora finally decides that she is going to tell Clint that the marriage is over and she gets a call from Clint, who wants to come to London to be with her and help her through this tough time with Matthew. Nora thinks she convinced Clint to stay home and take care of his own issues, but Clint is heading over anyway. Oh boy! Here comes trouble. And if everyone in Llanview had compared notes, they could have all flown over together because Destiny and David arrived on one plane, Tea and Eli are on another and Clint will be on yet another.
It was nice when Destiny finally got to see Matthew and he was as happy to see her as she was to see him. Unfortunately, Destiny showed up in the middle of Matthew and Danielle’s plan to run away from school and get Matthew back to Seattle for his surgery. Meanwhile, Tea arrives at the school and is furious that Ross had been there and tried to see Danielle. She finally gets to see her daughter who gives her the big cold shoulder. Obviously, Danielle is furious with her mother for sticking her in that school and refusing to let her see the man she thinks is her father, Ross. Tea isn’t concerned with how Danielle feels and decides to move her to another school, but Danielle isn’t having it. She does go to pack but intends to follow through with her plans with Matthew and the do disappear. I felt sorry for that headmistress when Tea got through reaming her. Tea finally admitted to Eli that this was all her fault. Duh Tea, ya think? Wait until that daughter who already can’t stand you finds out that Ross isn’t even her daddy and Todd is.
I have to say that it was a very bright spot seeing Nigel’s cousin Neville as the butler/caretaker at the Buchanan’s London compound. What’s funnier than Nigel being in the middle of the Buke antics in Llanview? Yep, his cousin Neville, teeth and all, across the pond. This is a great dual role for this actor to play.
