Anti Aging Skin Care - Why Does Skin Age?

103 189
Like all our body organs, genes program the aging of skin.
This is called internal aging.
This aging of skin is because of the aging of the body.
In case of skin, external factors age skin more than the internal aging.
Sun is the main culprit that ages the skin.
The other external factors include gravity, smoking, facial expressions, sleeping position, etc.
To understand about the effect of external factors, take example of twin sisters.
One of them protects herself from all the external factors while other does not care about the external factors.
If you observe these twin sisters at the age of say 50, you will find that the sister who protected herself from the external factors looks much younger than the other sister.
She will develop much less wrinkles, age spots and other blemishes.
If you want to look young for a longer time you should prevent the external factors.
Sun not only causes early wrinkles but also causes Actinic keratoses and skin cancers.
Sunburns are bad for skin health and tanning is equally bad.
Tanning beds are as bad as sun because they expose skin to Ultra Violet Radiation.
The UV rays in the sun destroy the skin slowly by producing more of free radicals.
Anti oxidants are used to control this problem but they cannot reverse or prevent aging completely.
Similarly because of the effect of gravity over a period of time jowls develop.
Gravity pulls everything downward.
The effect of gravity is seen after a certain age and only surgery can remove them.
Some people have a typical facial expression.
They develop wrinkles and lines in that way.
This happens because of repetitive moment of muscles in the similar way.
To prevent aging of skin, avoid all external factors and take proper skin care.
