• Merritt Island may best be known as the home of the Kennedy Space Center, where visitors can tour NASA's launch areas and take a gander at some of the space station's rockets and launch equipment. This area also hosts the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, with 140,000 acres of habitat for over 1,500 species of wildlife, including the West Indian Manatee. • The Beverly Beach RV Park is a five-minute drive from Merritt Island, and has oceanfront and ocean-view sites available. All 130 sites at this park have full hookups with 30- or 50-amp electrical options. Camp amenities include a convenience store that sells bait and tackle for fishing, laundry facilities, clubhouse and complimentary wireless Internet access. Carvers Cove RV Park

• This park is located nine miles from Merritt Island and a 30-minute drive from the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. All sites are provided with full hookup capacity. Pull-through sites are available for larger rigs. Camp amenities include showers, a shuttle into town and a complimentary laundry facility. The park also has a dock on the banks of the Banana River for fishing, and is four blocks from the ocean shores. Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available.

Space Coast RV Resort

• The Space Coast RV Resort is an approximately 20-minute drive from Merritt Island, and is within 15 minutes of Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge and the Kennedy Space Center. Sites are available with 20-, 30-, 50- and 100-amp electrical service, and water and sewer hookups. Pull-through sites can accommodate larger vehicles and tow packages. Camp facilities include a heated swimming pool, fenced storage area, dump station, propane service, LP sales and a small convenience store with sundries and RV supplies.
