Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) - What It Is and How To Cure It

101 19
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is one of commonest causes of vaginal infection. It is said that Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is not contracted by having sex. Having said this, women who are sexually active are more susceptible than those who are not. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) very often gets confused with candidiasis which is a yeast infection. There are other infections that are also mistakenly diagnosed that are bacterial infections. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is actually an imbalance of bacteria that occurs naturally internally

There are many common symptoms of BV. One of the most distressing is the off white discharge. It is usually accompanied by a very offensive smell (women often describe this as a fishy odour) and is especially noticeable after sex.

If you think you may have BV, then a simple test will be able to confirm it. The 'whiff' test will identify a fishy odour which is a good indicator that BV is present.

A swab of the area and a test for PH levels is also a good indicator of BV. This will be put onto litmus paper to check for acidity. If the PH is greater than 4.5, this will identify that there is more alkaline present and BV is probably a factor.

Yellow/white discharge is present.

Finally, clue cells.

To get a correct BV diagnosis, three or four of the four tests listed above should be present.

How can I get rid of BV?

It seems that prescribed antibiotics are relatively ineffective in many cases and women experience reoccurring BV.This is because antibiotics will kill all the bacteria, but this means even the good bacteria that lives in the vagina and is essential for a healthy balance.

It is imperative that the natural balance is restored in order to combat BV. There is no better, cheaper, easier and more effective way than nature's way.

Natural remedies have been practised for generations. The only way to combat BV for good is to restore the body's natural balance. This is something you can do with everyday store cupboard ingredients.
