Non Specific Vaginitis
In this article, I will give you some information on the causes, symptoms and treatment options.
What is Vaginitis? Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vaginal area, due to many different causes.
It is painful, uncomfortable, and can make you feel like you're going crazy, especially if it's recurring.
What are the symptoms of vaginitis? Symptoms differ with different women, however, the most common symptoms include mild to moderate pain, itching, swelling, infection, irritation while urinating, discharge, and odor.
What causes vaginitis? Many things can lead to vaginitis, including pregnancy, stress, hormones, a Candida overgrowth, yeast infections, and bacterial infections.
What can I do to prevent vaginitis? Here are some things you can do to prevent vaginitis.
Use a very mild soap in the genital area.
Using a strong soap can dry out the skin in the vaginal area, which is supposed to be moist.
When the skin dries out, it can cause an imbalance of bacteria.
This can lead to vaginitis.
It can lead to recurring vaginitis as well, especially if you don't realize that this is causing it, and keep doing the same things.
Another thing you can do is wear loose fitting cotton underwear.
This will allow your skin to breathe as it's supposed to.
Wearing tight or nylon underwear can trap moisture in and create the perfect place for an overgrowth of bacteria.
This can cause yeast infections which can lead to vaginitis.
Make sure to wipe front to back after having a bowel movement.
Never wipe back to front, as this can transfer fecal bacteria to the vaginal area, and cause infections and vaginitis.
Talk to your doctor.
This can be an embarrassing subject to discuss with your doctor, but it is necessary.
Remember that you are not the first person to talk to your doctor about this subject.
It is a common medical condition, and (s)he may be able to help you come up with a treatment that is right for you, and will stop this problem in it's tracks.
