Massanutten Resort and Water Park Information
- Indoors at Massanutten, ride the surfing simulator, the FlowRider. The staff offers (paid) lessons, with a special time just for teens. Shenandoah Cove is the family-friendly pool, with a 3-foot depth; the frog pond, for even smaller kids, has a frog slide, water sprays, swings and a maximum depth of 12 inches. There are also giant body and tube slide for thrill seekers, a rapids ride and an indoor/outdoor hot tub open year round.
- The outdoor water park is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The white caps wave pool has 3-foot waves, and up to three people at once can race down giant slides. The slides are for those 42 inches and taller. A large activity pool has sprays and fountains, a basketball hoop and a swaying rope bridge.
- Skiing and snowboarding terrain is divided into 30 percent beginner, 35 percent intermediate and 35 percent advanced trails. There are group and private lessons for children and adults. If you just want to have fun, you can go tubing.
- The full-service spa offers massages and body scrubs, a variety of facials and manicures and pedicures. After a day at the water park, try a relaxing hot stone pedicure. The spa also offers a couples' massage class, foot reflexology workshop and personal nail care class so you can do-it-yourself.
- All rooms sleep up to four, and have coffeemakers and refrigerators. The website notes that "hotel space is very limited on weekends and holidays." Rooms are nonsmoking.
- Massanutten Resort has eight restaurants and cafes. Special dinners include Murder Mystery Dinners and wine and beer tastings. Fareway's is the formal restaurant; there is also a casual pizza place, a family-friendly buffet restaurant, an ice cream and candy shop and a coffee bar.
