How to Dry Latex
- 1). Apply the paint as evenly as possible, making sure that you don't have puddles, drips or pools of paint that will not dry as well as others.
- 2). Allow at least two to four hours between coats of paint. If you live in a high humidity area and the room is not climate controlled, it will take longer for the paint to dry. Test that the paint is dry to the touch in an inconspicuous location before proceeding.
- 3). Remove painters tape as soon as you can rather than waiting for the paint to fully cure. If you need to, run a utility knife along the tape edge to keep it from pulling paint off when you remove it.
- 4). Allow a minimum of two weeks to pass before cleaning a surface painted with latex paint. If you used high gloss or highly colored paints, allow additional time before cleaning. Only clean with a wet sponge, not with any detergent or brush.
