How to Divide a Room in a Large Hall for a Wedding Reception

    • 1). Arrange screens and room dividers to section off an area of the room. Add embellishments to the screens and dividers to make them tie in more fully to the wedding. For example, wind flowered vines around and through the dividers. Drape strands of pearls or gemstones over the screens. Cover the dividers with fabric, such as a vintage table cloth or lace cloths.

    • 2). String a clothes line across the room to divide. Drape sheets of light fabric, such as lace or a white organza over the clothesline. Secure the fabric in place with clothespins for a vintage look.

    • 3). Place small pedestal tables along the borders of the area you want to portion off. Place tall floral arrangements on the tables to create a floral border for the two rooms. Scatter tea light candles around the arrangements on the tables as an added decorative touch.

    • 4). Create a perimeter for the separate space by placing tall, potted trees along the border of the room. The trees create a whimsical perimeter that gives an indoor room an outdoor feel. Hang small LED lights or electric candles in the trees to illuminate them.

    • 5). Hang long strands of beads and pearls from the ceiling to section off the room. Guests can push through the beads in order to enter one room from the other, creating a fun and fanciful touch. Choose white beads for the border or beads in the colors of your wedding color palette to complement the color scheme.
