How to Locate an NTLDR
- 1). Double-click "My Computer" on the Windows desktop. This opens an Explorer window. Click the "Tools" menu item at the top of the window and select "Folder Options."
- 2). Click the "View" tab. Check the option in the list box labeled "Show hidden files and folders." Click "OK" to save your settings. This allows you to see and find the NTLDR file.
- 3). Double-click "My Computer" again on the desktop. In the opened window, double-click "C:" in the list of files. This opens your root drive directory.
- 4). Scroll down the list of root files to find your NTLDR file. The file is required for booting the machine, so it is not recommended that you move or delete the file. However, you can copy it to make a backup of the file.
