Hey music fans! So, you're looking to learn how to play the guitar right? Well,  you have made a great decision by clicking on this handy guide to help you on your way to do so.
1) Firstly, you have to pick the right guitar for you.
Take a trip down to your local music shop and pick out one that takes your fancy, the right colour, and it must be the right size, just make sure it isn't too big, so that you can pluck the strings correctly and apply the right amount of pressure without straining your arms.
2) Next, you must make sure it s properly tuned.
Nowadays, some guitars have an electronic automatic tuner attached.
If yours doesn't, not to worry, there are plenty of video tutorials available online.
3) Try to have a copy of the chord chart in front of you.
It is important that you know all of the major chords, as they are used in most songs.
You must also become accustomed to the scales.
As before, if you can't find a poster, there are plenty of copies of the chord chart online.
4) We will start by playing a song, as this is one of the best ways you will feel comfortable when playing the guitar.
Pick a song which is preferably acoustic, so no heavy metal or niche, but rather country songs or familiar tunes.
5) Listen to the song and become accustomed to the different chords struck.
Get a chord pattern for the song in front of you and practise away! * A useful tool to have is a fretboard diagram, as this will present chords in an easier fashion! I hope you have enjoyed this beginners guide to playing the guitar, and the only way to get better is to? Yes you've got it, practice! Good luck folks.
