105 13
Warts are small harmless tumors of the skin caused by a virus called the human papillomavirus. The HPV virus causes a hard protein called keratin in the top layer of the skin (the epidermis) to grow too much, producing the rough, hard texture of a wart.A wart is generally a small, rough tumor, typically on hands and feet, that can resemble a cauliflower or a solid blister. The technical name for a wart is verruca vulgaris.

Types of Warts:

Common warts - These warts usually grow on the fingers, around the nails, hands, elbows, knees, and on the backs of the hands.

Flat warts - These can occur on the face, hands, legs and knees. These warts are flat and are almost of the color of the skin.

Plantar warts - Plantar warts or verruca are usually found on the soles of the feet, especially at pressure points such as on the heels or balls of the feet.

Mosaic warts - These are clusters of plantar warts.

Genital warts - These are warts that grow predominantly on the genital areas.

Causes of Warts:

Common warts are a type of infection caused by viruses in the human papillomavirus family. Some types of warts - such as genital warts are quite contagious, but the chance of catching common warts from another person is small. There are more than 100 types of human papillomavirus viruses. Some types of human papillomavirus tend to cause warts on the skin, while other human papillomavirus types tend to cause warts on the genitals and rectal area.

Effective wart remedies are:

Apple cider vinegar is the first warts remedy. To use vinegar effectively, dip an ear swab (q-tip) into a cup of vinegar and apply it to your warts. Or you could submerge your warts into the vinegar and allow it to soak for twenty minutes. You should do this two times a day.

The another thing you could do is drink herbal tea with lemon grass, chamomile and green teas. Drink at least 2 to 3 cups each day.

Over the counter treatments typically need several applications, and are only necessary if the warts are problematic. More extensive external warts are frequently treated directly with a variety of topical or surgical treatments. The warts are excised or cut off from the skin at the base.

Removing warts can be accomplished using various methods: freezing the warts, burning off with acids, poisoned with toxins (through prescribed medications), or removed naturally with essential oils.

Crush or grate a garlic clove and apply it directly on the affected area. Take care to avoid the surrounding skin. Cover affected area with a bandage and leave in place for 24 hours. Blisters should develop, and the wart should fall off after a week.

Most people use an over the counter product with Salicylic Acid in it. These products are either in a concentrated bottle containing Salicylic Acid, or adhesive pads with this solution on them.

Applying fish oil to your warts is another remedy. To do this, you should cut open a fish oil pill and apply the liquid to your warts. You should do this one time a day until your warts are completely gone.

So, next time you see warts appearing on your skin, do not panic or get disturbed. They are just a viral skin infection which with proper care can be treated.
